Promoters' Quotes about artist:

"Using oriental techniques with Chinese inks and rice paper, the artist captures the universe in precise strokes using a very unique technique."
Fernando Seara (archt.), Director of Museum of Douro.

"Technique, passion and inspiration make these works of art the greatness represented by Milla's simple delicacy."
João Oliveira, Director of Museum of Wine.

"... my initial encounter with the immensely talented art of Milla Chang, a work that deeply has captivated me. Her art seamlessly combines expressions of Eastern and Western arts, reflecting the artist's life and the influence she got from living in these two distinct cultures."
Carlos Macedo e Couto (archt.), organizer of "Bridging Cultures Festival" in Taipei.

"I recognized Milla's gift for painting the instant I saw her early work; it wasn't just talent, it was a calling. Her art represents a masterful dialogue between traditional calligraphic heritage and contemporary intuition. Refusing to be bound by standard rules, Milla has forged her own technical path, producing innovative works that radiate beauty and possess a distinct, unmistakable style."
Jorge Matos (archt.), curator of Milla's exhibitions.

"In Traces in Ink", Milla Chang employs traditional techniques of ink and rice paper to express a minimalist, contemplative response to nature. She does not only depict its visible forms, but seeks to capture its breath, rhythm, and silent transformations. The movement of water and ink, the absorption and emptiness of the paper, become mediums for a continuous dialogue with the natural world."
Wu Jing ( "Jing Art Space" ), curator and art advisor.

"This exhibition is a remarkable cultural moment by Milla Chang, coming from what the Portuguese then have named "Formosa Island", and portraying the Douro with a unique sensitivity (...) it is an exhibition of enormous dignity, a magnificent exhibition. The Academy is pleased to visit an inspiring exhibition that inspires us all, at the beginning of this academic year, and that inspires us all for the future (of University) UTAD."
Emídio Gomes, Phd – Rector of UTAD University
